Scale a recipe to a new serving count
Three numbers: original servings, desired servings, and one ingredient amount. The tool applies a simple proportion.

How the calculator works
The factor is desired servings ÷ original servings. Multiply the amount by that factor. 250 g for 4 servings becomes 375 g for 6. Eggs and yeast do not scale cleanly as fractions: round with judgment. A bigger cake does not bake for that factor times as long.

Worked example
250 g flour, 4 → 6 servings
original = 4, desired = 6, amount = 250.
- Factor = 1.5.
- 250 × 1.5 = 375.

Mixing grams and spoons in the same field.
One unit at a time.
Forgetting salt and pasta water.
Every line scales; pasta cooking water often should not.

Frequently asked questions
How do I take a recipe from 4 to 6 people?
Multiply by 1.5.
6 ÷ 4 = 1.5. Apply that factor to each quantity, one by one.
What about bake time?
It does not follow this factor.
A thicker cake bakes longer, but not 1.5 times longer.
Can I convert units here?
No.
Keep the recipe’s unit, or use a separate volume/weight converter.
