Grade and GPA calculators
These tools apply the grading rules your school set. They do not guess your scheme: you enter the weights, they do the arithmetic and show the working.
GPA is a US convention on a 4.0 scale, built from letter grades and credit hours. A course average depends on the category weights in your syllabus, not on a universal rule. Each page states the convention it uses so you can compare it with your own institution's.

Questions
Is a 4.0 GPA the same everywhere?
No. The 4.0 scale is common in the United States, but the letter-to-point mapping, the treatment of plus and minus grades and the honors bonus all vary by school. This calculator uses the widely published mapping and says so; your registrar's rules take precedence.
Why does my school show a different average?
Rules differ: rounding, dropped lowest scores, pass/fail courses, retakes, credits excluded from the average. These tools apply standard arithmetic to the values you enter. Where they disagree with your transcript, the transcript is authoritative.
