Science Calculator (Scientific Calculator)
A full scientific calculator in your browser: sin, cos, tan and their inverses in degrees or radians, log and ln, powers and roots, factorials, π and e, with full parentheses and correct order of operations. Type expressions directly or tap the keys.
Worked example
Example: the height of a ramp 12 ft long at 5°
- Set DEG mode
- Enter 12 × sin(5)
- Press =
≈ 1.0459 ft
Formula
Precedence: ( ) → functions → ^ → × ÷ → + −
Powers are right-associative: 2^3^2 = 2^9 = 512
−2^2 = −4 because the exponent is applied before the negative sign, the same convention used by TI and Casio calculators.
Frequently asked questions
How do I switch between degrees and radians?
Tap DEG/RAD. Trig functions take angles in the selected unit, and inverse trig returns angles in it.
What's the difference between log and ln?
log is base 10; ln is the natural log (base e ≈ 2.71828).
Can I use it on a test?
Online calculators generally aren't allowed in proctored exams; check your test's calculator policy.
