The Autumn family in brief
Autumns have warm, golden undertones, and their best colors look like the season itself: rust, olive, mustard, teal and chocolate. Rich, earthy shades flatter them, while icy pastels, fuchsia and stark black can look harsh or draining.
Soft, True and Deep compared
- Soft Autumn is the most muted. Sage, terracotta, camel and dusty teal suit it, and it borders Soft Summer.
- True Autumn is the warmest of all twelve seasons. Pumpkin, mustard, olive and rust are its core, and it borders True Spring.
- Deep Autumn is the darkest Autumn: espresso, forest green, burgundy-brown and copper. It borders Deep Winter and can carry more contrast than the others.

Neutrals that work
Autumns usually look better in brown, camel, olive and cream than in black and pure white. Deep Autumns can manage dark charcoal; Soft Autumns are often happiest in mushroom and taupe. Gold, bronze and copper jewelry tend to suit all three.
Checking your season
The seasonal color quiz asks ten questions about your coloring and points to a likely season. The color analysis tool then lets you hold warm and cool drapes up to your face in a photo. If you have a warm undertone but bright colors also suit you, compare True Autumn with True Spring before deciding.
