Light and cool
Light Summer leads with lightness and leans cool. Ash-blond or light brown hair, blue, gray or light green eyes and fair skin with pink undertones are typical. Colors should be soft and light, like a summer sky or a sweet-pea border.
Wearing Light Summer colors
Powder blue, lavender, rose pink and soft mint are the backbone. For neutrals, soft white, light gray, rose beige and soft navy replace black. The accents, such as sky blue, orchid and watermelon pink, add a little more energy without becoming harsh.
Silver, white gold and pearl jewelry usually suit better than yellow gold.
Problem colors
Orange, black, mustard and rust are the main ones. They are too warm, too dark or both. If you need a dark color, soft navy or gray-blue is the gentler choice.
Neighbors
Light Summer borders Light Spring, which is warmer, and True Summer, which is deeper and cooler. If peach and butter yellow flatter you, look at the Light Spring palette as well.
Makeup
Rose and berry-pink lipsticks, cool pink blush and taupe or soft gray eyeliner fit the palette. Strong black liner often looks heavy on this season.
Testing it
Hold the powder blue and the peach swatches near your face in daylight, or use the color analysis tool with a photo. A Light Summer usually looks fresher in the blue.
