The warmest season of all
True Autumn, also called Warm Autumn, has the warmest undertone in the twelve-season system. Red, auburn or golden-brown hair, brown, hazel or green eyes and golden or bronze skin are common. Its colors are rich and earthy: pumpkin, mustard, olive, rust and teal.
Wardrobe ideas
| Look | Combination |
|---|---|
| Everyday | Camel coat, cream knit, olive trousers |
| Smart | Chocolate suit with a mustard or rust accent |
| Statement | Burnt orange with turquoise teal |
Khaki and olive brown make excellent everyday neutrals in place of gray.
What to avoid
Icy pink, fuchsia, cool gray and royal blue are the main clashes. Cool colors make golden skin look sallow, and very bright pinks fight with the natural warmth. Teal, a warm-leaning blue-green, is the safest blue.
Neighbors
True Autumn borders Soft Autumn, Deep Autumn and True Spring. Spring is clearer and brighter; if coral and kelly green suit you as well as rust and olive, compare the two.
Jewelry and makeup
Yellow gold, brass, copper and tortoiseshell suit this season. Brick red, terracotta and warm brown lipsticks follow the palette. More burnt shades are collected on the burnt orange page.
